Members‘ Showcase at Heartland Art Club is an all-members show of the year — a community celebration of the incredible talent within our community.

Nature-Inspired Pen & Ink Drawing at Shaw Nature Reserve

Alllevels. Capture the beautify of the Whitmire Wildflower Garden and surrounding areas at Shaw Nature Reserve while developing your pen and ink drawing skills. Learn essential techniques to create nature-inspired works, whether focusing on a single flower or a sweeping landscape. The class includes group demonstrations, critiques, and ongoing one-on-one feedback. Weather permitting, students may choose to draw outdoors during individual work time. A supply list will be provided.

Class is offered September 10, or October 8, or November 12, 2026 at Shaw Nature Reserve, Gray Summit, MO.

The Shaw Nature Reserve Art Show is a boutique indoor/outdoor art show of St. Louis area artists at Shaw Nature Reserve. Featured artwork includes glass, ceramic, wood and metal sculpture, painting, folk art, paper, photography, jewelry, basketry, fibers and more on display and available for purchase through the rustic cabins at the Dana Brown Overnight Center and surrounding area.

Fee upon entry. $10 per member vehicle. $20 per nonmember vehicle. Free fore Festival level members and above.

Intro to Watercolor

Beginner. Discover the basics of watercolor painting in this beginner-friendly class focused on technique, color, and creative expression. Participants will learn fundamental skills like brush control, blending, and laying while creating their own original artwork. Perfect for curious about watercolor or looking to build confidence in their skills. All supplies included.
