Collapsible Canvas, what a novel idea.

As an artist and teacher, I want to not only provide you with an insight to my artwork as an artist but also what is be going on in the art world. I am signed up for way too many emails, really too many to realistically go through, yet occasionally I find something interesting that relates to my artwork. For years I have struggled to paint within a size that "fits in to my car." And my car size has drastically changed since I first started painting to accommodate my paintings. While my paintings are not humongous, it still can be tricky when doing shows and trying to fit a half-dozen or more paintings in at once.

However, I came across an email from painting.about.com discussing one of the newest products on the market, Genie Collapsible Big Canvas. Please read their review by clicking on this link:

About.com Painting Review: Genie Collapsible Big Canvas

Is this the solution to my problem of wanting to paint larger? I LOVE the concept but I'm not hopping on board yet. My main concerns is how well does the painting travel once rolled up, and especially how well the person on the other end manages to put it together. If you've used one of these, I'd love to know your comments and concerns.

More posts to come!

Hi Stacy - Great blog post!

I've rolled and shipped about 30 paintings on Genie Canvases, and not one of my patrons complained about any damage to the painting. On the contrary, they remarked about how easy it was to reassemble and how tight they were!
